The M:ST Performative Art Festival and Society exists to encourage the development of performative art practice in Southern Alberta with our original publications, professional development opportunities, and biennial festivals.
M:ST 9 Performance Art Biennial
September 7 – October 7, 2018
M:ST 9 Biennial brings Canadian and international performance artists to Calgary for a month-long festival celebrating experimental and risk-taking artworks that disrupt conventions: We are an incubator for artworks that don’t behave! This biennial we investigate: the limits of our freedom – both as individuals and as citizens, the edges of borders – both real and imagined, and our collective connectivity– both voluntary and involuntary
M:ST will take over theatres, galleries, and public spaces all over the downtown core, bringing you opportunities to entangle with media in new and surprising ways through exhibitions, interactive installations, performances, and interventions.
All events are free and all are welcome.
Our programs would not be possible without our presenting partners: Contemporary Calgary, EMMEDIA Gallery and Production Society, Stride Gallery, The New Gallery, TRUCK Contemporary Art in Calgary, and Untitled Art Society.
