New Canadian Pilgrimages: Mobile Mix Tape

Performative walk
Presented by M:ST
Fri Oct 17, 9AM - 4PM
Meet at the base of the
Calgary Tower, 101 9 Ave SW

New Canadian Pilgrimages is a long-term multi-disciplinary art project that takes Foster (and a variety of friends and strangers) between, across, and through various parts of the Canadian landscape. Through these walks she creates, maps, and archives new and existing Canadian pilgrimage routes, while providing unique social opportunities for participants. As part of the M:ST 4 Festival, Foster invites participants to join her on a day-long walk around the city of Calgary, starting downtown and finishing in the suburban neighbourhood of Arbour Lake. During this excursion, she will develop the "Mobile Mixed Tape," a walking soundtrack map that documents the "emotional geography" of various urban landscapes. Please register in advance by contacting info@mstfestival.org.

Interdisciplinary artist Eryn Foster currently lives in Halifax where she is the Director of Eyelevel Gallery and an instructor at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. She has exhibited and performed her work across Canada.
