Festivals: M:ST 4 Biennial | October 3 - 17, 2008.
New Canadian Pilgrimages is a long-term multi-disciplinary art project that takes Foster (and a variety of friends and strangers) between, across, and through various parts of the Canadian landscape. Through these walks she creates, maps, and archives new and existing Canadian pilgrimage routes, while providing unique social opportunities for participants. As part of the M:ST 4 Festival, Foster invites participants to join her on a day-long walk around the city of Calgary, starting downtown and finishing in the suburban neighbourhood of Arbour Lake. During this excursion, she will develop the “Mobile Mixed Tape,” a walking soundtrack map that documents the “emotional geography” of various urban landscapes.
