Come Run Glenbow Museum with THE MOVEMENT MOVEMENT!
CALGARY, ALBERTA Glenbow Museum and M:ST invite you to run with art this October by becoming a part of Run Glenbow Museum. On Sunday, October 12th at 12:30 pm, THE MOVEMENT MOVEMENT will lead 200 runners on a 5k guided run through Glenbow’s exhibition galleries. Participants in Run Glenbow Museum will release endorphins while perusing rare and beautiful artifacts and art objects from Glenbow's vast collections. Run Glenbow Museum will be the first time a mass run has taken place at Glenbow, although it’s one of many jogs for THE MOVEMENT MOVEMENT. The Toronto-based artist duo Jenn Goodwin and Jessica Rose have a history of running the world's museums. Since May 2006, these two have been organizing playful transgressions of institutional rules. They’ve dashed through many institutions including the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art, the Royal Ontario Museum, and the Melbourne Museum. Remember being told not to run in the hallways in elementary school? THE MOVEMENT MOVEMENT want you to share in the thrill of breaking this rule, and they want you to do it along with a couple hundred other Calgarians.
